今、私たちが生きている時代は「人新世（じんしんせい）」と呼ばれています。これは、人間が地球に非常に大きな影響を与えるようになった時代のことを意味しています。たとえば、たくさんの森を切って町を作ったり、工場や車からの排煙で空気を汚したり、海や川にプラスチックのゴミを捨てて環境を汚すことによって、地球の環境は人間の自己中心的な活動で悪化しています。このような状況から、持続可能な社会の実現に向けた取り組みがますます重要となっています。

私たちが持続可能な社会を実現する上で、自然から学ぶことが非常に大切です。なぜなら、自然に生きる生き物たちは何億年もの時間をかけて環境に適応してきた知恵を持っているからです。しかし、その知恵を単に真似るだけでなく、生き物の目線で自然や環境を観察し理解することが重要です。

「蟲」という漢字は、人間を含めた生き物を象徴するものです。本書では、蟲の目線で人間社会を理解することで、人間が持続可能な社会を実現するための技術だけでなく、暮らし方についても考えます。これは未来を担う子供たちに向けた出版物です。

本書では、小学生に分かりやすいように蟲の目線で見た人間社会の問題点を説明し、また、高学年の生徒や親がより深く理解できるような解説を加えています。

The era in which we live today is called the Anthropocene. This refers to the era in which humans have come to have a huge impact on the Earth. Japanese kanji character "蟲：mushi" symbolizes living things, including humans. In this book, by understanding human society from the perspective of an insect, we will think not only about the technology that humans need to realize a sustainable society, but also about how to live.

This is a publication for children who will carry the future. This book explains the problems in human society from the perspective of an insect, making it easy for elementary school students to understand, and also includes explanations that allow older students and parents to gain a deeper understanding.
